N.Y." on the edge, obverse illustrating a helmeted soldier tied to two columns, with snakes wrapped around each column and topped by German helmets, swastikas on each column, a woman behind holding a baby and a child hugging the soldier around the waist, with various Czech iconic scenes in the background, the reverse with the Czech coat-of-arms, inscribed "REPUBLIKACESKOSLOVENSKA" and dated "March 15, 1939" (German invasion of Czechoslovakia), 38.2 mm, light contact, extremely fine. Footnote: This medal was issued at the 1939 New York Worlds Fair to raise money for and bring attention to the occupation of Czechoslovakia.
